Upgrade Patch 8 Overview
This patch will only work on PCs that have a registered copy of Bird Tracker for Windows already installed. Registered users of Bird Tracker for Windows should download the patch to their PC and then double-click the BTupg8.exe file. Follow the instructions on the set-up installation screens and be sure to install the patch to your current Bird Tracker application folder; this folder should come up by default during the set-up process. When done, you are ready to continue maintaining your records.
To add a new species provided with Upgrade 8, go to the Species Screen, click the Open Defaults Selection Menu button, click the desired species on the dialog box, then click the OK button. You are now ready to use the new species.
Upgrade patch 8 includes all previous upgrade patches (Upgrade Patch 1 , Upgrade Patch 2a, Upgrade Patch 3, Upgrade Patch 4, Upgrade Patch 5a, Upgrade Patch 6 and Upgrade Patch 7) plus provides improvements in the following areas:
Five user defined fields have been added to the Flock Records screen. On the Options screen you can specify the field name and field type.

An Ailment Screen has been added to the program and comes pre-loaded with 44 ailments.

A species filter pop-up has been added to the Flock Records screen so that you can work with a specific species and thus less records.

A Nest Box Card can be printed out from the Breeding Records Screen.

A Fledging Period entry box has been added to the Species Screen. This period establishes the Fledging Date (i.e., date to pull the offspring from the nest) for each hatchling.

The Fledge Period when set for a species will establish dates on both the Breeding Screen and Egg Status Screen for when each bird should be pulled from the nest. The Fledging Dates go away as each hatchling's status is updated to "Fledged" on the Breeding Results section of the Breeding Screen. The Banding Dates go away when a band number is entered for each hatchling.

The Breeding Statistics section of the Report Screen can also be queried for Fledging Dates.
As always, we appreciate the comments and feedback from our customers and look forward to additional thoughts that will expand the abilities of Bird Tracker.
